COW AND SHEEP
Two ceramic pieces which were part of the Hole in The Water installation. Made from White St Thomas clay and fired with a manganese black glaze, with gold leaf applied to the horns and eyes.
I had read in Homer how Odysseus sacrificed a cow and a sheep and poured their blood into bowls to speak to people in Hades. I didn't want to go berserk with a straight razor and some farm animals in St Mary Magdalene Church in Eton Wick, so made these sculptures in lieu.
