22 PORTRAITS OF YVES SAINT LAURENT
I had a number of YSL memo cards from my spell working in Luxury Goods (2001-5). I didn't really know what to do with them, then one day I thought I would paint portraits of Yves Saint Laurent himself. There were 22 cards in the end. My friend and colleague, Luca, with whom I worked in the Corporate Image of the brand many years ago was doing some illustration or book about YSL, and I thought he might like them, so I sent them to him.
