On Plymouth Hoe, there are (or were) bollards celebrating persons of note that came from that place. Sharron Davies, the swimmer is next to Francis Drake the pirate and murderer. It was with no uncertain amount of Weltsmertz that I watched a meeting of the alt-right group Together For Democracy, where the swimmer was speaking, about 15 minute cities and rings of steel. It will never end, the rightward creep. Fuelled by people like her. And don't get me started on Francis Drake, often celebrated by people who seem to be unaware of what he actually did in his career on the high seas. The working title of this piece and its related assets was "Sharron Davies Fucks Francis Drake in Hell" but I decided to rename it in honour of Patrick Keillor's film Robinson in Space.
