BINDWEED DRAWINGS
For a little while I was very interested in drawing things as though they had been overgrown with bindweed. These speculative drawings were very time intensive, they permanently ruined my eyesight and proved meagre in financial return. People don't want to buy an A5 drawing for £8000 just because it took some poor idiot 6 months to do.
The Bindweed Ambassadors was included in an open show in Brockley and sold for £110. 50% of which I gave as commission to the gallery owner. I don't even think about what the hourly rate on that was.
My final Bindweed piece was an ambitious A2 rendering of Constable's Haywain, which took about five years to do. I thought I had lost it, but I just found a reasonable photograph below.
